Learn to apply a Pilates approach to taking care of your body, from the bottom to the top.  We will address some common issues that afflict many people, such as bunions, plantar fasciitis, runner’s knee or rotator cuff pain, stiff neck, etc.  Leave each workshop with tools to use in your daily life to help you stay healthy, happy and keep on moving!

 

Held @ 550 2nd St., Oakland

$40-65 Sliding Scale for each class
or $140 for the whole series, $111 for 3, $76 for 2

Foot & Ankle


The curriculum of this workshop is a favorite to many because it feels so good!! Are you a pronator?  Got bunions? Have fallen arches? Repeated ankle sprains? Plantar fasciitis? Wanna know what the best shoes are for your activity? Just interested in how to treat your bottom-most body part well? Come learn and release a bit with this fun class! Includes self-care toys.


 


Knee & Hip (Pelvis)


Runner’s knee, acl tears, SI (sacroiliac) joint pain, piriformis syndrome (sciatic nerve pain), Pelvic floor strength etc. The pelvis is probably the most important part of the body! When it’s out of whack, everything is out of whack!  We need our knees to propel us through life as they express what our hips are doing. Learn about this and more!


 


Spine & Neck


Spinal stabilization for the health of your spine! This is sort of the unspoken heart of what Pilates can give to the world. The exercises are all CORE and range from tiny to full body. Learn what happens when there’s a bulge or a herniation and try a few techniques to get those little ligaments back into shape! Lots of props used in this class.


 


Shoulders, Neck, Head


Take care of those rotator cuffs! See if you can get out of your super tight upper trapezoids (that part of the neck where so many people store tension)!  Work on those slumping shoulders from years of being at your desk or riding your bike or washing the dishes! TMJ Syndrome?  Let’s work on that a little. Find some muscles you didn’t realized you needed!


Get healthy and fit in a relaxed, accepting and encouraging atmosphere!
