What is a Pilates Tower?
Designed after the "Cadillac", or "Trapeze Table" (or "Bed-nasium" as Joseph Pilates called it) the Pilates Tower is a tall frame to which removable springs & other fun items are attached. We stand, kneel, or lay on a mat and exercise using the springs & things t
o assist and resist our movements.
Among so many other things, the Tower is superb at challenging the stability of the core from hips to neck and wonderful for increasing the strength & mobility of the limbs. It can be an amazing rehabilitation tool, as well as the tool that could raise your athletic activity to the next level.
Most people LOVE the feel of working their hips on the tower. Many enjoy the way it works their core & increases their spinal flexibility.
At first sight, the towers look fun and enticing, but also a little intimidating. Don't be scared! Jump right in! It's just a different way to work your body and offers a much more complete, full body work out than mat class.
Come give it a try!
These beautiful Towers were designed and built by Pilates Director, Kendal Au. They are distinguished by the use of wood instead of metal, as well as the ladders and monkey bars built into the design.
