A “bootcamp” style class due to it's intensity and cardio aspects, this class willl focus on cross training for Martial Artists but ALL ARE WELCOME to this challenging class.  Get your kicking, punching & grappling muscles in order and improve your body mechanics & efficiency.  Acquire the ability to push yourself up off of the ground and pull yourself up on to something (it could SAVE YOUR LIFE!).  Kendal will use some techniques borrowed from Shaolin and will include some breathing and chi-building exercises as well.  Breathe. Sweat. Groan. Giggle.  And still have time to go out and party after!

trail runnerThis challenging (intermediate/advanced) class is designed for runners but all movers are welcome!


This class is conditioning for runners using the mindfulness & smarts of Pilates to get there.  You will learn about specific muscle groups, core strength, proper muscle recruitment, and a few things that can help you avoid & rebound from common runner's injuries.

 

We will use the Towers, Mat & Props for this class.


You'll work & learn the importance of using your gluteus medius and inner thighs with every step.  You will work & learn about your feet, your VMO's (inner quad muscle), your hamstrings (strech 'em too!), abdominal obliques & other abs, and even your shoulders (they have to be free & efficient in your stride!), among other things.


Kendal, your teacher, has acquired a taste for trail running and will draw directly from her personal experience, as well as from her experience working 1 on 1 with an array of runners over the past few years.  She is also recovered from an ACL tear & reconstructive surgery and gains from this intimate knowledge of knee issues.
