From the perspective of a well trained Pilates Instructor, working in an office day after day can wreak havoc on a body over time. Our shoulders round forward & our heads slide forward over our neck as we reach towards the computer, our necks and shoulders start to hurt with fatigue and stress; maybe we feel fatigue in our mid back or maybe we start gripping our glutes while we sit (yes our butts!) and develop sciatic nerve pain; maybe instead we grip our hip flexors (quads, psoas) and our lower back hurts.
Pilates is great for getting your body out of those patterns and keeping you healthy and moving. Pilates is strength work that focuses on alignment and posture. Stick with it for 6 weeks or more and discover the unique feeling of being strong and supported from the inside that Pilates can provide.
Get healthy and fit in a relaxed, accepting and encouraging atmosphere!
